Roberto Mancini's Italy defeated England 1-2 (3-2 pen) in the final of the Euro 2020 to win their second European Championship and extend their unbeaten run of form to 34 matches.
The Azzurri have qualified for the finals after beating Spain 4-2 on penalties after the score was 1-1 even after extra time. This was after a brilliant performance in the quarterfinals against Belgium whom they downed 2-1. They scored 13 goals and only conceded four goals in the competition.
Their last defeat came on September 10, 2018, in the group stage of the UEFA Nations League in 2018 against Portugal.
From 1935 to 1939, the Azzurri went on an unbeaten run of 30 matches under the then coach Vittorio Pozzo. During that period, the European giants had won their second World Cup title (1938) and won an Olympic gold medal in 1936.
